Congratulations to Jason Reese for being selected as the member of the month! The physical transformation he has had since joining CrossFit Gamma has been amazing, but even better is the new found confidence he has! Jason is such a pleasure to have in class regardless of if it's at 6pm or 5am after pulling an all-nighter!

What do you do for a profession outside of CrossFit?
I am a second year Internal Medicine resident at Pinnacle Health
How long have you been a member of CrossFit Gamma?
22 weeks. I joined March 29th
How did you get involved in CrossFit?
One of my dad’s friends is a CrossFit coach in northeastern PA. I have always been
a lifter, but he and I would talk about lifting we got discussing CrossFit. I did some
research and decided to give CrossFit Gamma a try. Was hooked since the first WOD.
Take us back to your first WOD...what was it, and how did it feel?
My first WOD was a Saturday strongman day. It was a partner WOD and we were
doing sled pulls with the rope and tire flips. Poor Mark was my partner that day. I
remember walking out, unable to grip the pen to sign up for CrossFit!
What is your least favorite WOD/movement?
Pull-ups. Honestly, I love pull-ups, but only the first 10. After that, my arms are dead
and that simple motion becomes extremely difficult. Something I keep practicing.
What is your most favorite WOD/movement?
Floor press. Takes me back to my days of bench pressing. Throw some push-ups in
there and I have the biggest smile!
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting
I was always a gym rat since I was a teenager. My weight fluctuated but I managed
to drop a lot of weight before CrossFit. But my weight lifting became stagnant and
boring. The same exercises and routine got old and I ended up at the gym just out
of habit. Once I joined CrossFit, I saw an immediate change. My mood improved,
I required less caffeine and felt much better about myself. Not only that, but the
weight came off, clothes fit looser, and I ended up having to buy more wardrobes.
Such a great feeling!
What is your favorite healthy food and “cheat” food?
Favorite healthy food is spinach from a bag – I use that for cooking and for salads.
My cheat food is pizza – rarely eat it but when I do, I make it count!
What is something that we don’t know about you?
This is a hard one since I usually don’t stop talking even while working out. I love to
dance actually, especially at weddings. Have a couple of signature moves and once

Do you have any advice for people just getting started at CrossFit Gamma?
Embrace it! The weight loss is great, the self-confidence feels amazing but most
importantly the people at the gym make it an amazing experience. The minute I
walked into CrossFit Gamma, everyone introduced themselves and I felt like family.
Part of working out and success of working out is accountability, and the Gamma
family will hold you accountable, push you, but in the end make you feel welcome
and everyone cares for each other! Such a great feeling!
