Vinnie Occhiena

Vinnie was a soccer and track and field athlete through his K-12 years, where he had his first coaching experience training the middle school track and field sprinters for his senior project. He played soccer for two years at Penn State Abington prior to enlisting in the U.S. Army in 2002. As an active duty Soldier, he has two deployments to Iraq, represented the Army in a soccer match with a local Kurd (Iraq) team in 2005, participated in several service connected fitness challenges and two Army’s best medic competitions, where he and his partner were crowned the Army’s best medic team in 2014.

He has been training tactical athletes for more than 18 years. In 2011 he was introduced to CrossFit by two friends at work, and quickly joined a local box. He began coaching CrossFit locally when he receive his level 1 certification in 2015. He joined the CF Gamma team in 2019.
